Simulation of Investment Casting Process for Bearing Housing Casting

Abstract:The investment casting process of bearing casing was designed,and the mold filling and solidification process of castings was simulated by Procast numerical simulation software,the solidification field and the change of metal liquid flow state were observed,and the location of porosity and shrinkage defects was predicted.According to the simulation results,the optimized casting process scheme was proposed.The results show that the optimized process scheme has a stable flow state of the molten metal in the mold filling process,reasonable placement of the riser and control of the riser size can increase the effective filling distance and reduce defects,and high quality castings can be obtained through simulation and test.
