Abstract：In order to solve the casting defects in a fixed location of platform shaped steel castings, solidification simulation software ProCAST was used to simulate defects and their distribution of platformed steel castings and optimize the casting method. Using optimized casting method, the quality of the steel castings and economic benefit are enhanced.
