Abstract:
The shape of electroslag casting(ESC)molten pool with fixed consumable electrode filling method was numerically simulated and experimentally studied by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS.The results show that when the ingot size is 400 mm×70 mm×200 mm,the longitudinal section of the metal molten pool is half elliptic, the space shape of the molten pool is inverted hump shape, and the depth of the molten pool at the center of the moving consumable pole is maximum. The experimental results are consistent with the simulation results, and the accuracy of the simulation program is verified.According to the influence of process parameters on the shape of molten pool,it is found that the matching of moving consumable electrode current and cross-sectional area is the key to the design of electroslag fusion casting process with fixed consumable electrode filling.
