Effects of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Wear Resistance of Cr20 High Chromium Cast Iron Used for Straw Extruder Screw

Abstract:The effects of quenching and tempering temperature on the microstructure,hardness,toughness and wear resistance of Cr20 high chromium cast iron were studied by means of optical microscope,scanning electron microscope,X-ray diffraction instrument,hardness tester and abrasive wear testing machine.The results show that Cr20 has the highest wear resistance compared with Cr15 and Cr26 because of the high content of secondary carbide and martensite after quenching at 990℃×1 h,combined with primary tempering at 250℃×1 h and secondary tempering at 400℃×1 h(Air cooling).
