Abstract：The characteristics and parts of sand hole defects in investment casting were described,the internal and external causes of sand hole defects were analyzed,and the corresponding countermeasures were put forward.The results show that the sand hole defects are formed when molding sand and/or refractory materials from inside and outside the mold shell entered the mold cavity.Minimize the human factors affecting the quality of mold shell,the most effective measure to prevent casting sand is to improve the quality of mold shell.
