Effect of Ambient Humidity on the Quality of Low Pressure Cast Al-Mg Alloy Castings

Abstract:The effects of humidity on quality of Al-Mg alloy in low-pressure casting were studied.The results show that the humidity control in casting chamber has an important effect on moisture absorption of gypsum mold and aluminum liquid after drying.Reducing the humidity in casting chamber can reduce the probability of pinhole and improve the casting quality of Al-Mg alloy castings.
