Numerical Simulation and Optimization Research of the Casting Technology the Sheep Shearer Fork by Lost Wax Casting

Abstract：The filling processes of different castingtechnologies for sheep shearer fork in lost wax casting process are numerically simulated by ProCAST software. Casting defects such as shrinkage cavities and porosities are predicted by analysis of flow field and temperature field. Simulation results on various gating systems indicated that the optimized process designs were determined, which remarkably reduced the generation of shrinkage cavities and porosities.
