Experimental Investigation of Dissolving Characteristics of Fe in Pure Liquid Al

Abstract：The dissolving characteristics of Fe in pure liquid Al is studied by water quenc
hing. The experimental results show that at 950 ℃ pure Fe element does not dire
ctly dissolve in liquid Al, but combines with Al and forms Al3Fe compound, the
n Al3Fe compound dissolve in liquid Al. In this way, Fe continuously dissolves
in liquid Al. Al3Fe compound are present in liquid Al at normal smelting te
mperature.
