Effect of Suctioncasting Voltage on the Glass Forming Ability and Mechanical Properties of Zr63Cu17.5Al7.5Ni10Fe2 Amorphous

Abstract:By adding minor amount of cheap element Fe into metallic glass based on Zr65Cu17.5Al7.5Ni10 composite, bulk metallic glass (BMG) in diameter of 3 mm was successfully synthesized by copper mold suction casting method at different voltages. The effect of suctioncasting voltages on the microstructure, glass forming ability, compressive mechanical property and fracture features of Zr63Cu17.5Al7.5Ni10Fe2 bulk amorphous were investigated by means of Xray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and computer controlled electronic mechanical testing system. The results show that the property of the amorphous is closely related to suctioncasting voltage.
