Effect of Suctioncasting Voltage on the Glass Forming Ability and Mechanical Properties of Zr63Cu17.5Al7.5Ni10Fe2 Amorphous

Abstract:By adding minor amount of cheap element Fe into metallic glass based on Zr65Cu17.5Al7.5Ni10 composite, bulk metallic glass (BMG) in diameter of 3 mm was successfully synthesized by copper mold suction casting method at different voltages. The effect of suctioncasting voltages on the microstructure, glass forming ability, compressive mechanical property and fracture features of Zr63Cu17.5Al7.5Ni10Fe2 bulk amorphous were investigated by means of Xray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and computer controlled electronic mechanical testing system. The results show that the property of the amorphous is closely related to suctioncasting voltage.
