Distribution of Magnetic Induction Intensity in the Mold of Electromagnetic Continuous Casting of Aluminum Alloy Slab

Abstract:Magnetic induction intensity (B) in the mold of electromagnetic continuous casti
ng of Aluminum alloy slab is measured by teslameter. The experimental results sh
ow that the values of B at the same level are maximal at the corner, at the cent
er of short side is next. the center of long side is weakest, B values along the height
 direction occurs at the half height of the coil the is maximum. B values is lower on t
he surface and higher in the central plane of inductive coil. The value and dist
ribution of B can satisfy the upper request of softcontact electromagnetic con
tinuous casting. The distribution of B is central plane is uniform, which is con
ductive to the realization of soft contact. The distribution of B is all increas
ed with the increasing of current values.
