Abstract:Based on similar principle, flow performance of molten steel in tundish was studied by water hydraulic modeling simulation. Average residence time, dead area, slug flow area and mixed flow area are calculated by water hydraulic modeling simulated RTD curve. Optimum inhibitor combination device is turbulence inhibitor with lowerdam and its detained position is obtained. Resident time in optimized tundish decreases by 4.1 percentage, and slag flow increases by 8.7 percentage compared with those in initial dead tundish.
