Effect of Rare Earth and Boron Complex Modification on Strength and Toughness of 14Ni5CrMoV Cast Steel

Abstract：The effects of rare earth and boron complex modification on strength and toughness of 14Ni5CrMoV cast steel were investigated by means of mechanical properties tests and microstructure analysis. The results show that the shap， size and distribution of nonmetallic inclusions of 14Ni5CrMoV cast steel are improved after complex modification. Meanwhile, homogenous tempering martensite after tempering cast steel is contained， moreover, the dispersion carbides are distributed in martensite grains. which results in improvement on the strength and toughness of the cast steel，especially prominent improvement of the impact toughness at low temperature.
