Abstract：Casting speed, superheat, billet temperature adjustment method were applied to control secondary spray water. The model could calculate billet surface temperature though heat transfer mathematical model instead of direct measurement. The control effects were compared with different methods of secondary cooling water in the manufacturing plants. The results showed that surface temperature was stable to use the speedwater control model in condition of stable casting and more stable to use the billet temperature to regulate model with speed fluctuations.
