Effects of Pouring Techniques on the Microstructure of AlPb Bearing

Abstract:AlPb bearing materials were prepared by sloping plate method. The effect of pouring temperature and position on the content and distribution of Pb particles  were investigated in detail. The results showed that Pb particles were mostly gathered in the lower parts of the specimens when the pouring temperature is below 1 100 ℃, while the Pb particles in the slurry tended to distribute uniformly when the temperature equals to 1 200 ℃. When the pouring position is below 1.2 m, the particles in the upper parts of the specimens were large and less, and the segregation was serious in the gravity direction. When the pouring position equals to 1.2 m, the size and distribution of Pb particles in the upper and lower parts of AlPb specimens were quite similar.
