The effects of homogenization time on the microstructure and properties of as-cast 6082 alloy were studied by DTA, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, hardness test and electrical conductivity test. The results show that after the homogenization treatment at 550 ℃ for 8 h, the ingrain segregation is basically eliminated, the non-equilibrium eutectic phase is almost completely dissolved into the matrix, the hardness of the alloy reaches the peak of 70.02 HV, and the electrical conductivity is 37.59%IACS. The second phase coarsenes and the hardness decreases with the extension of holding time. The optimal homogenization process of 6082 aluminum alloy is 550 ℃ for 8 h.
